Enjoy a chance to meet…
Meet Richard Setterwall, Venture Partner at Piton Capital and previously Founder and CEO at DogBuddy, Europe's leading online marketplace for dog sitting services - acquired by Rover.com in 2018. Piton Capital is a venture capital and growth equity firm headquartered in London, focused exclusively on network effects businesses (e.g., marketplaces, exchanges, platforms and data networks). The firm is stage and style-agnostic and seeks to invest from seed to late stage, typically ranging from €1m to €15m. Richard will be talking about investing in network effects businesses.
This is perfect for…
Startup founders and management at startups looking to raise investment. This dinner is open to a limited number of service providers / advisors (unless a TableCrowd partner). Please see the details under the 'Join this table' button.
If you'd like to join but don't fall neatly within the above categories, please email us at hello@tablecrowd.com to discuss whether this is the right event for you. Also feel free to check out our other events as another might match you perfectly!
The conversation will be…
With Piton investments that include Booksy, HungryPanda, Watchmaster, Magaloop, Musixmatch, ManoMano and Auto1 to name a few, this is a great opportunity to meet with Richard, who will be speaking about:
✓ What defines a network effects business.
✓ Google, Amazon, Facebook, Alibaba - what makes them network effects businesses?
✓ Why the team around your startup is so important.
✓ What Piton Capital looks for in a startup.
Who is Richard setterwall?
Richard Setterwall is Venture Partner at Piton Capital. They make investments typically ranging from €1m to €15m and since inception have invested in over 50 businesses, primarily in Europe. Richard was previously the Founder & CEO of DogBuddy, Europe's leading peer-to-peer, two-sided online marketplace for dog sitting, that was acquired by Rover.com in 2018. Earlier in his career, Richard worked at McKinsey and PwC Strategy.
How it works?
A fully hosted experience with a knowledgeable speaker and curated group of guests. There will be the usual introductions, talk from our speaker and then a hosted Q&A. Bring your own glass of wine, mint tea or Horlicks!
What’s included?
Due to COVID-19, this is a virtual dinner. You can dial in from your laptop or phone. Joining details will be circulated to attendees on the day. We ask for the same respect you would have at a face to face event - turn up on time, don't leave until after the Q&A and tell us if you are no longer able to attend.
#MeetandEat
If you book a place and then can't make it, please make sure you tell us. An empty place at the table with your name card is not a great start to dinner!
