Enjoy a chance to meet…
Alex Stephany is Founder and CEO of Beam, the world’s first platform to crowdfund job training for homeless people and support them into skilled work. Providing them with a support network, from their support specialists to kind strangers who fund their campaigns, Beam is using tech to find scalable solutions to the toughest social problems - starting with homelessness. A breakthrough innovation in social mobility, Beam has won numerous awards, from Best Tech for Good in Europe and Best Financial Inclusion Startup in Europe from MIT and is covered regularly in the media, including the BBC, The Times, The FT, The Independent, Evening Standard, Sky, Time Out and others. Alex will be sharing all on building an award-winning Tech for Good company.
This is perfect for…
Startup founders and management at startups working in the social impact, social enterprise and tech for good space and senior leaders in the tech industry who want to increase their social impact. This dinner is open to a limited number of service providers / advisors (unless a TableCrowd partner). Please see the details under the 'Join this table' button.
If you'd like to join but don't fall neatly within the above categories, please email us at hello@tablecrowd.com to discuss whether this is the right event for you. Also feel free to check out our other events as another might match you perfectly!
The conversation will be…
Funded by the Mayor of London, some of the world's top tech entrepreneurs, and partnering with leading national charities, this is a great opportunity to learn from a leading global tech for good champion. Alex will be talking about:
✓ The importance of understanding and communicating your core business mission
✓ Building the right team around your tech for good company
✓ How to build impactful CSR collaborations (Alex wrote a really interesting piece around this for City AM)
✓ How big tech can player a bigger role in creating positive impact
✓ The story of Beam to date and key lessons learnt
Who is Alex Stephany?
Alex Stephany is the Founder and CEO of Beam. Since launching, Beam has raised more than £1m in donations, helping hundreds of homeless people start work in sectors facing skills shortages. Before Beam, Alex was CEO of JustPark where he led the largest ever crowdfunding round for a tech startup at the time. An expert on the sharing economy, Alex has authored a book called The Business of Sharing.
How it works?
Due to COVID-19, this is a virtual dinner. You can dial in from your laptop or phone. Joining details will be circulated to attendees on the day. We ask for the same respect you would have at a face to face event - turn up on time, don't leave until after the Q&A and tell us if you are no longer able to attend.
What’s included?
A fully hosted experience with knowledgeable speaker and curated group of guests. There will be the usual introductions, talk from our speaker and then a hosted Q&A. Bring your own glass of wine, mint tea or Horlicks!
#MeetandEat
If you book a place and then can't make it, please make sure you tell us. An empty place at the table with your name card is not a great start to dinner!
