The company provides a monthly box containing four recipes and four nonperishable ingredient kits that are then added to fresh ingredients the subscriber purchases from the supermarket. A market leading and well-known UK FoodTech brand, SimplyCook has raised $10.5m over 4 rounds, with a Series A round coming in January 2019. Who is Oli Ashness?
Oli Ashness is the founder of SimplyCook, a subscription-based recipe box service based in London. SimplyCook was first envisaged by Oli while living and working in London when his busy lifestyle left little time to create great food for himself and his friends and he realised how time consuming and expensive it was to try new recipes and put good food on the table. A few months later he started work on solving this problem. The result was the launch of SimplyCook.
How it works?
Due to COVID-19, this is a virtual dinner. You can dial in from your laptop or phone. Joining details will be circulated to attendees on the day. We ask for the same respect you would have at a face to face event - turn up on time, don't leave until after the Q&A and tell us if you are no longer able to attend.
What’s included?
A fully hosted experience with knowledgeable speaker and curated group of guests. There will be the usual introductions, talk from our speaker and then a hosted Q&A. Bring your own glass of wine, mint tea or Horlicks!

SimplyCook launched in 2014 with £100k from Oli’s savings and friends and family and within six months of its launch, SimplyCook had thousands of customers.
Oli previously worked at leading venture capital firm DFJ Esprit where much of his time was spent evaluating, and working closely with ecommerce businesses. Oli also has an MSc from London Business School.
One of the TableCrowd hosting team will be on hand to help you get set up to take part virtually - you can join early if you need a hand! They will then run the event as close as possible to our face to face format - with a few adaptions (no seat move needed!)
