Mariana is a choreographer and pitch coach to London’s startup ecosystem. Her love for teaching fearless movement through dance, together with being a startup entrepreneur from age 23, inspired her to create a unique training method. Her communications skills consultancy, Metaspeech, has been in residence at Wayra UK (Telefonica/O2’s startup accelerator) since 2016. She has trained entrepreneurs to raise over £100M from angel investors, venture capitalists, and win competitions at international startup conferences. In 2018, she coached the founders of Pouch for the BBC’s Dragon’s Den where they received investment offers from all 5 dragons - something that’s only happened 3 times in the history of the show. She’s also a regular trainer for entrepreneurship programmes at Judge Business School (Cambridge University), Geovation (the Land Registry’s startup accelerator), New Entrepreneurs Foundation, GCHQ’s Cyber Accelerator, and London Council’s Leadership Programme. Through Metaspeech, Mariana has taught over 2000 people at major tech players like Google Twitter, and Indeed.com, as well as at trailblazing startups like Hiyacar, Mixcloud, and Unrival. As a mentor, Mariana has worked with startups at Cannes Lions's R/GA Startup Academy (2016 & 2017), Pitch@Palace (The Prince’s Trust) and Google for Entrepreneurs. As a speaker, she’s presented on stages across the world, including 4YFN/ Mobile World Congress 2016-17-18 and TechweekNY. A passionate advocate for women’s equality, Mariana supports multiple charities and is part of Tech London Advocates (Women).
