Enjoy dinner drinks and a chance to meet…
Matt Lerner is a London-based growth marketer, strategist, VC and Founder and CEO of Startup Core Strengths. They offer online training and growth coaching workshops to founders and their teams in Europe, helping them develop their customer acquisition strategies, set KPIs and make key hires. Their mission is to help startups not only to grow, but to 10X - starting with strategy. Previously at 500 Startups, and PayPal, Matt once earned PayPal an extra $300m with 5 small changes to a signup flow! Matt will be talking about developing a customer acquisition strategy that works for your business.
This dinner is perfect for…
Startup founders and management level at tech startups. This dinner is open to a limited number of service providers / advisors (unless a TableCrowd partner). Please see the details under the 'Join this table' button.
If you'd like to join but don't fall neatly within the above categories, please email us at hello@tablecrowd.com to discuss whether this is the right dinner for you. Also feel free to check out our other dinners as another might match you perfectly!
The dinner conversation will be…
Matt is always learning, and he really enjoys teaching and helping those around him to learn and improve. With a wealth of relevant experience and knowledge, take this opportunity to meet with Matt, to leave with ideas and inspiration for your own business and to speak to others facing similar industry challenges and opportunities as you informally over dinner. Matt will talk about:
✓ The most common marketing mistakes I see in European startups
✓ The critical most important marketing decision for every CEO
✓ How to create a metrics-driven culture of rapid experimentation
✓ Cultivating a “growth mindset” through your leadership
Who is Matt Lerner?
Matt Lerner is the founder and CEO of Startup Core Strengths, a startup growth and marketing advisory company. They offer online learning, working directly with a few clients to help them develop their customer acquisition strategies, set KPIs and make key hires. Before founding Startup Core Strengths, he was the London-based Partner of 500 Startups, an early-stage VC fund, where he started the "Distro Dojo" a seed-stage growth program for our portfolio companies. Prior to joining 500, he was a marketing director and general manager at PayPal, in Silicon Valley and London. Before joining PayPal, he worked at several other tech startups in the valley.
What’s included?
You get a private dining experience with a knowledgeable speaker, 2 course dinner with wine or 2 soft drinks plus highly curated and relevant crowd. This is a dinner, not a dropin event, so we ask that guests turn up on time and don’t leave until after the Q&A.
#MeetandEat
P.S. TableCrowd are offering complimentary cab rides home (£15) thanks to their partner, Gett, on first download of the app. Download the app in advance.
If you book a place and then can't make it, please make sure you tell us. An empty place at the table with your name card is not a great start to dinner!

Matt has been invited to lecture on startup growth at Stanford University and Imperial College, and approaches his work first as a general manager and then as a marketer, product manager or both, as needed. His lens is quantitative, but rooted in deep customer insights and testing, and based on fast iteration. Regarded as a thought leader in many areas of business and an inspiring people manager who reliably delivers ahead of expectations, when he’s not hacking growth, Matt is obsessed with optimizing his own health, fasting and measuring anything that isn’t nailed down.
One of the TableCrowd hosting team will be on hand to make sure you are welcomed through the door and introduced to the most relevant people to you.
