Business Spotlight: Evan from Dine In

We caught up with Evan from Dine In at our recent FoodTech startup dinner where  20 startups came together over food & wine to share insights, tips and challenges. It was a wonderful, lively evening with Zomato also giving an after dinner talk. We followed up with Evan and asked him a few questions about his startup Dine In:

What were you doing before you launched your startup?
Worked in Finance and always struggled to get great Lunch delivered in under 30 min.

If you have co-founders, where did you meet them?
Just me. 🙂

What’s your biggest ‘hindsight’ moment?
My biggest hindsight moment is to have realized we should have architected our web product with a amazing technology base. Luckily we are there now but iteratively improving code and growing your business at the same time is harder than you think.

What will 2014 bring?
New investment from large VCs and Dine In launching in new cities! Spread the word!

1 piece of advice for someone starting a business in the the sector
Don’t bother starting a delivery service …. outsource it to us.

Convince someone to use your product/service in under 50 words.
What great food delivered fast? Order online from amazing restaurants like Busaba Eathai, Rossopomodoro, Tayyabs, Patara Fine Dining, MEATmission, 1 Lombard Street, Viet Hoa, Marco Pierre White Steak and Ale House … the list just goes on and on.
