Enjoy dinner, drinks and a chance to meet…
Peter Dowds, ex co-founder of Mopp, an online UK service which helped homeowners find cleaners. Founded at the end of 2012, the business scaled to 60,000 customers, and from $0 to $8m turnover in just 19 months. Six months later, Peter and his fellow co-founder, decided to sell the company to US competitor - Handy, and a successful acquisition and exit then followed. Peter swiftly moved onto his next business, armed with the learning (and same co-founder!) from the first and is now focussed on Elder, a platform that provides better access to the right live-in care.
This dinner is perfect for…
Business owners, CEOs & management level.
If you'd like to join but don't fall neatly within the above categories, please email us at hello@tablecrowd.com to discuss whether this is the right dinner for you.
The dinner conversation will be…
Peter has hands on experience of leaving his city job to start a tech business, bootstrapping, raising capital, scaling and scaling fast and then negotiating a company buyout and exit - and all within the space of a couple of years! He will be speaking about:
✓ The story with Mopp – how they did it!
✓ Getting to an exit and why having an exit strategy is key.
✓ The post acquisition period – what happened next and how it felt!
✓ Applying the learnings to his new business – what he will do (and won’t do!) this time around.
Peter is one of TableCrowd’s earliest (and favourite!) members and has a wealth of experience to share. You’ll leave with a honest insight into his experience and with plenty of practical advice to apply to your own business.

Along the way they raised a $1.3m seed round from a venture capital fund, and before acquisition had term sheets for a Series A. However an acquisition and eventual exit seemed the right and natural choice.
Sajni, one of the TableCrowd hosting team will be on hand to make sure you are welcomed through the door and introduced to the most relevant people to you.
Sajni has transitioned from cocktail waitress to investment banker and is now a tech startup geek. She enjoys meeting new people, learning and sharing ideas to make the world a better place.
