#BusinessSpotlight: Lara Mazzoni, co-founder of Bodi.me

It was great to meet Lara Mazzoni at last night’s “Fashioning Technology” dinner. She’s dined with us for the first time and we wanted to find out more about her startup, Bodi.Me.

“Technology has always been the focus of my interests & the web is definitely the way most businesses will evolve. The internet-industrialisation will bring to mass-customisation to everybody’s door. With my startup, Bodi.Me, I have managed to develop and deliver a product key for this internet-industrialisation period we are living in.”

What’s the elevator pitch for your startup?
– Our ground-breaking sizing solutions increase sales and reduce returns.
– We provide consumers with online real solutions in fashion, health and fitness all based around body measurements.

What were you doing before you launched your startup?
I have been in luxury and mass market design companies for over 20 years always developing technology products. The most recent was my own company, a solo venture. 

If you have co-founders, where did you meet them?
I have been extremely lucky to have met Vanessa my co-founder through friends in Barcelona and Jordi at a Business Angels’ network event. Two keys partners in this challenging venture, great professional people to work with.

What’s your biggest ‘hindsight’ moment?
Technology is evolving at a speed never seen before, and it will only go faster. We need to make the best out of it in order to make our lives and planet a better place.

What will 2015 bring?
FashTech revolution!

1 piece of advice for someone starting a business in your sector?
Don’t!  Join mine, we are always looking for brilliant people.

Convince someone to use your product/service in under 50 words.
As a consumer: You want to minimise the inconvenience of purchasing the wrong size garment and going through the returns process. Bodi.Me saves you pain and time, tracks your measurements and keeps your body data safe.

What’s your favourite startup in your sector (not including your own)?
Disruptive business like mine, from AirB&B to Uber, from TransferWise to Just Eat.

What’s your favourite London restaurant?
I love food, as Italians do! I cook Italian at home and I eat Asian out. I love anything from Busaba Eathai to Nobu.
