Oli Ashness is founder of SimplyCook, a leading subscription-based recipe box service based in London. The company provides a monthly box containing four recipes and four nonperishable ingredient kits that are then added to fresh ingredients the subscriber purchases from the supermarket. A market leading and well-known UK FoodTech brand, SimplyCook has raised $10.5m over 4 rounds, with a Series A round coming in January 2019. HQ’d in London since 2014, they have grown their revenue and employee numbers since and this is a great opportunity to learn from the founder of a leading UK foodtech company, who will be sharing all on building a subscription business.

Who is Oli Ashness?
Oli Ashness is the founder of SimplyCook, a subscription-based recipe box service based in London. SimplyCook was first envisaged by Oli while living and working in London when his busy lifestyle left little time to create great food for himself and his friends and he realised how time consuming and expensive it was to try new recipes and put good food on the table. A few months later he started work on solving this problem. The result was the launch of SimplyCook.

What’s included?
You get a private dining experience with a knowledgeable speaker, 2 course dinner with wine or 2 soft drinks plus highly curated and relevant crowd. This is a dinner, not a dropin event, so we ask that guests turn up on time and don’t leave until after the Q&A.

Oli Ashness is the founder of SimplyCook, a subscription-based recipe box service based in London. SimplyCook launched in 2014 with £100k from Oli’s savings and friends and family and within six months of its launch, SimplyCook had thousands of customers.

Oli previously worked at leading venture capital firm DFJ Esprit where much of his time was spent evaluating, and working closely with ecommerce businesses. Oli also has an MSc from London Business School.
