Announcing the winner of the Zomato Contest
On Tuesday, we gathered food startups, bloggers and journalists together for a lovely meal at the Green in Clerkenwell to share ideas and collaborate. We were happy to partner with Zomato for the event, and welcome Kimberly Hurd who heads up Zomato UK to share her story after dinner.
Zomato helps anyone who loves food and drink to never say ‘the usual’ again. They are the go-to source for restaurant information and help people make smart and personalised decisions for whatever type of eating or drinking experience they are in the mood for. In London alone, they list in-depth information for over 23,000 restaurants ranging from menus, photos, ratings and reviews to over 45 other details like the modes of payment they accept and opening times.
Zomato gave all the diners the opportunity to win a £75 voucher at the tasty Whyte and Brown restaurant in Carnaby Street by tweeting a photo of the dinner that night. And… we’re happy to announce a winner: Alessandro Longoni! Here is his winning photo:
We also caught up with Kimberly from Zomato to see how she found the night:
“TableCrowd is a great opportunity to meet like-minded people in an informal, fun environment and creates a closer community within the quickly changing and growing entrepreneurship and tech sectors in London. At Zomato, we love being part of this community and partnering with Kate and the team – not only have we made valuable connections within the industry because of TC’s events, but we’ve had a great time doing it!”
And here’s a quote from our founder Kate about the partnership:
“It was the third food startups dinner we’ve hosted, but our first in partnership with Zomato. It was tremendous to have them involved in the evening and inspiring to hear from Kimberly their plans for world domination! The atmosphere was buzzing with ideas and chat and the lamb was delicious. I made some really valuable connections, some of whom I’ve already been in touch with.”
